Windows updates issue for XP

Step>>>1
1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. Type

net stop wuauserv

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 MSXML.dll
regsvr32 MSXML2.dll
regsvr32 MSXML3.dll
regsvr32 qmgr.dll
regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll

net start wuauserv


Step>>>2
1. Click Start > Run
2. Type Services.msc and click Ok
3. Find "Automatic Updates"
4. Right Click on the Automatic Updates Service and select Stop to stop the
service.
5. Now Find "Background Intelligent Transfer service"
6. Right Click on the Background Intelligent Transfer service and select Stop to stop the service
(and select start to start the service again)

Step>>>3
1. Click on Start, Run and in the Open box write "%systemroot%" (Without Double Quotes) and press Enter.
2. It will open the root folder ( i.e. C:\Windows if you have installed fresh
copy of the Windows XP OR if you have upgraded over Windows NT then it will open C:\WINNT) from your system.
3. Locate the SoftwareDistribution folder from the opened window, Right Click it and select Rename. Type OldSD, and press Enter.


Step>>>4
Go into regedit
Find the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\au
In the right pane, look for a key called noautoupdate
Change the value from a 1 to a 0.
