A message to quit applications occurs in Office for Mac

When you try to install Microsoft Office for Mac or an Office for Mac update, you may receive the following message:


To resolve this issue, you must quit the application. To quit the application, follow one of these methods:

Step 1:If the program icon appears in the Dock, press the CONTROL key, click the icon, and then select Quit.







Step 2:Select the application name next to the Apple icon, and then click Quit Application name.

Step 3:On the Apple menu, click Force Quit. Select the application name, and then click Force Quit.


Step 4:On the Go menu, click Computer. Open your hard disk drive (Macintosh HD), and then open Applications,Utilities, and the Activity Monitor. Locate the application name, select it, and then click Quit Process.
