Unable to Open or Launch Outlook

Unable to Open or Launch Outlook.

Step:1 Open Outlook and check is there any error message .

Note: Ask simple probing questions to find does the issue started after installing or updating the windows update , if yes try to uninstall the software or the windows update which is related to outlook or outlook express.

Step:2 Open MSCONFIG , and do a clean boot , (I,e) Disable all the startup items and the third party services .


Step:3 First Click on the startup and click on Disable all .

Step: 4 Click on Services , and put a check on Hide all M/S services and click on Disable all.


Step: 5 Restart the computer and try to send or receive email.

Step: 6 If the issue still persists.Try to open the outlook in Safemode .

Click on start → click on Run → Type outlook.exe /safe



If it works in Outlook Safe Mode, the issue is most likely caused by an add-in, a corrupted settings file or the first message that is being displayed when Outlook is started

Step:7 If you get any error message while opening outlook try the below mentioned steps .

Start Outlook with the resetnavpane switch.

Step: 8 Windows XP → Start-> Run; outlook.exe /resetnavpane
Windows Vista and Windows 7 → Start-> type; outlook.exe /resetnavpane

Step: 9 Try outlook repair option .

Step: 10 Try Microsoft Fixit tool to fix it .
