Unable to scan from the printer


Step1: Check whether the printer and the computer is communicating .

Step:2 Try to perform the stand alone copy from the printer to check whether the printer is performing the stand alone copy , this will ensure the issue is with the printer hardware or the printer driver issue .

Step:3 Try to scan from the Computer using the respective Printer Manufacturer driver .

(Note:If unable to scan using the Printer Manufacturer driver , get the exact error message )

Step: 4 In order to perform the scan ,first start the WIA (Windows Image Acquisition)services from Services.msc.

Step:5 And try to scan from the printer and select the computer name on the printer and perform the scan.,

Step:6 If customer has more than one computer , try to scan from the other computer to check the scan function is working or not .

Step: 7 unable to perform the scan using the Printer Manufacturer Driver , try to scan from

XP OS → MS paint
Click on File → From Scanner and Cameras.

Win VISTA → Windows Photo Gallery

Win 7 → Windows Fax and Scan , click on Start Scan.

Step:8 Still the scan did not work , try to scan using the file “twain32”
